PRESENTATION: | Presentation 1 Begin the work cycle. Ask the child to lay out a floor mat. Show the child how to open the box and remove the Seguin Board B. - Point to the 10 on the board and ask the child if he remembers what that number is.
- The child should respond with, “ten” in which case you continue the lesson.
- Point to the twenty and say, “This is twenty, this is how we write twenty”.
- Point to the thirty and say, “This is thirty, this is how we write thirty”.[/DAP]
- In the SECOND PERIOD repeatedly ask the child to show you the various amounts 10, 20, 30. Do this in sequence initially and eventually out of sequence.
- In the THIRD PERIOD, isolate each amount and ask the child (in order) “what number is this?”
- Consolidate by asking the child again to tell you the name of all three numbers.
- The next time you work with this, do one known and two unknown numbers.
- End the work cycle.
